“todas as canções de que ela gostava” (all the songs she used to like) is about memory. or rather, about non-memory; in this case, about forgetting, about what you forget. it’s about all the ideas one has when it’s too late. about what was not said when it was possible and which isn’t the case anymore.
it was with this idea in mind that I started collecting shards of performances, draft recordings of what could become one thing but remained unrecoverable because I relied on precarious records (or I didn’t care about reliable records, which is not the same thing but isn’t the subject of this brief description)
at one point the name appeared, as a mote that added together this collection of mismatches. Later, reading the book by demétrio panarotto (ares condicionados), I identified a series of images that I associated with the underlying theme of the disc. I chose some phrases from the short stories to be the title of the songs and asked him to write a new one, listening to the songs and having only the phrase mote as a reference*.
in the last stage, I made the sounds be accompanied by images, in a series of videos that capture daily banalities and try to extract from them the expressiveness of a moment of those that, later on, we do not even know why we remember.
* After the short story was ready, I told demétrio, purposely too late, that I had thought about death, he wrote about separation. Isn’t also the same thing, but sometimes it feels like it is.

This was considered a “lost” album by Honorável Harakiri. Our recordings were always done under much less than ideal conditions, but this one had many other problems, considering that there was even a rock band sounding in the contiguous room. When we first listened to it, we were more disheartened that, also, the reeds went very offmike during some parts… so we agreed we would not release it.
But time passed and we decided to listen to it again. The files were deep buried in some old hard disk, but we managed to find it. We did what we could and what knew with the raw files, and now we present some forty minutes of the dense energy of HONORÁVEL HARAKIRI.
This is the last volume of the trilogy started with HONORÁVEL HARAKIRI (2013, MSRCD038), followed by OS SURDOS HERDARÃO A TERRA (2013, MSRCD041).
This album also marks MANSARDA RECORDS’ 90th release, on the day of its 6th anniversary.
Thanks!
Obrigado!
